Exchanging?
A student exchange program is a program in which a student, typically in secondary education chooses to live in a foreign country to learn, among other things, language and culture. These programs are called 'exchanges' because different countries participating in the program will trade off students in this fashion. The exchange student (A) will live in a family of the exchange-partner(B), after a certain time typically one school semester (4-5 month) the exchange-partner (B) will live with (A) and As family for the same amount of time.
